Becoming a Social Enterprise: The Defining Step
By: Andres Congrains
Good things are coming. Our long-term plans demand flexibility, commitment, and even a little hustle. We are adapting ourselves to achieve our broader goals that will positively impact our children's lives. As we move toward attaining long-lasting social well-being, UPP has set the objectives of:
Increasing the number of students by 40% before the end of 2022.
Building two more classrooms by the end of 2023.
Getting new school supplies for over 70 students, including water bottles, backpacks, books, pencils, crayons and pens.
These are only some of the reasons why what had begun as a charity transformed into a Social Enterprise. With the support of a dedicated team of volunteers committed to improving more youngsters' living quality and futures, we dare to dream big.
Social Enterprises - Changing the world for the better
UPP Global's transformation signifies a before and after regarding our capabilities to deliver quality education and social wellness to Vietnamese youth. At the same time, our vision and spirit remain steadfast. Our staff and beneficiaries have remained unchanged, while the UPP family has only gotten bigger. We hope that we can count on your support. We rely on our community of benefactors to help us achieve our goals.
Who we work with
It's not only individual donors who sympathize with our cause. UPP Global's success in forming strategic alliances with well-established organizations in Ho Chi Minh City shows there's an understanding of our mission and willingness to take part in it. For example, our agreement with the Ho Chi Minh City Welfare Association (HCWA) and Teashares brought international education into the HCWA's weekly charity classes.
We aim to cooperate with many more and to become the organizational standard for positive social impact. To achieve this, UPP Global had to transform into a more serious organization.
An Exciting Future
Throughout the pandemic and after, we had to deal with a lot of uncertainty. As a charity, we saw ourselves operating under the umbrella of others' kindness (the time and hard work of volunteers) and dealing with extreme staff instability.
The instability was in no small part because we couldn't offer employment. Today, we offer compensation and career paths to our collaborators. This will ensure the continuity of our projects, boost our productivity, and assure commitment to our long-term goals. Our staff will be able to quit side jobs and grow together in an organization dedicated to transforming the world into a better place.
We couldn't be more thrilled about the opportunity to stay together on this exciting adventure. You can be a big part of the change. Sign up today!
