UPP Global has been providing English classes to the children at The Green Bamboo Social Protection Centre since April 2021.

Introduction class (14th of April, 2021)

Our weekly English classes are free for students selected by Ho Chi Minh City’s Welfare Association and the Green Bamboo Social Protection Centre. We teach four classes a week, divided by level and age group, supporting children aged 5 to 12 through engaging, supportive lessons. Our experienced team of teachers is dedicated to improving the lives of all children, no matter their background.

These classes aim to provide high-quality education by offering students access to trained, English-speaking teachers who are committed to their development, confidence, and future success.

Since 1993, the Green Bamboo Center has provided protection, care, and support for some of Ho Chi Minh City’s most vulnerable children. Originally founded as a shelter for homeless boys, the center has evolved into a broader Social Protection Centre, offering rehabilitation, education, vocational training, and long-term life planning for youth in need.

Today, the center plays a crucial role in serving disadvantaged families and communities by increasing access to social services, education, and mental health support, while also training social workers and advocating for improved local policies.

Through our English classes, UPP is proud to support the Green Bamboo’s mission of reintegration, empowerment, and care. In addition, support needed in many areas:

  • Individual care plans for every child

  • Extracurricular clubs and workshops

  • Counseling and community education

  • Parent training in child protection

  • Healthcare access and peer mentorship

Your donations help us continue these life-changing programs — giving children not just a class, but a brighter path forward.

Our Curriculum

There is no improvising when it comes to a child's future. UPP Global has adopted the Oxford International curriculum. Read an overview of the curriculum here.

What do we mean by Quality Education?

Quality education can be understood as an education that engages multiple aspects of a learner. It is a holistic approach to learning that looks beyond content delivery and considers the development of children into active and productive members of society.
